replace timing belt on a 96

Appaerntly, my timing belt is starting to need to be replced. My mechanics says you can hear noise from it when it's cold, but it goes away when it warms up. So, how complicated is cahnging teh timing belt. The car has a 4banger. I have worked on, and completely rebuilt a few v8 engines, but have never gone too far into a 4 banger. How hard is it?

So, I can't really read that, but thanks for the effort. How much of the engine has to come out/apart to change it?

i changed a timing belt on my 87 mr2. i didnt have to remove any of the engine. all i did was remove an engine mount with a 12 inch extension on my .5 inch driver. i had a friend crank the lower pulley(camshaft) with a driver and cut the existing belt in half with a knife. when the existing belt was cut i slid the new belt on the other half of the cams then removed the other half of the old belt. then i slid the new belt all the way over the teeth of the cam sprokets. once the belt was on i started it up to make sure the timing was right. once it was determined that the car was running correctly i put the cam covers back on an reconnected the engine mount. i have a torque wrentch and made sure i did everything according to the haynes manual. so far 30k later the mr2 it running perfect. if u have any more questions check out mr2.com and search for timing belts and the author is steve bagdon. i know its for an mr2 but with a haynes manual it should be similar. pm me if u have any more questions.
