Installing a Moonroof in a GEN 3

Is it possible to install a OEM moonroof from another Camry Gen 3 to mines? I have a GEN3 , 1993 Camry SE.

Why? because my roof has started to faded and the clearcoat is already chipping. Funny thing, the rest of my car is in showroom condition. I don't why just the roof is cloudy looking?

I know it'll cost about $500 to repaint it but I can get a moonroof from a junkyard for a few hundred bucks but wanted to see if it feesible to do it? How much should it cost to do such a thing? Cutting the roof, installing it and repainting the roof? Ballpark?

Does anyone has a parts list or know what is required to install a moonroof? I'm getting my roof from Tap Recycling in CA for $200 bucks plus shipping but not sure if it's just the roof and track.

Thanks,
Harry

Its pretty much impossible, there are drain holes and electrical things that would be very hard to duplicate. Also most aftermarket sunroofs leak a lot. I would never cut a hole in a vehicles roof, unless its done at the factory.

bad idea to install an aftermarket sunroof

oem roofs with sunroofs are designed with extra structural supports in mind in case of a roll over...unless you get your sunroof professionally installed by people who will also weld new supports into your roof, in case of a roll-over, chances are the roof may crumple....

if as said, you will have to do some major work on your roof anyway, you can find a donor gen 3 with a sunroof in a junker, and you REALLY want a sunroof.....best way would probably be to chop the top off the donor car and transplant it that way onto you car....shouldn't be *that* much work either....

and also, if you do a non oem moonroof, 9 times out of 10 it will leak....
