Hey TN'ers, would it be worth it to swap a 3sge into my 2000 cam(automatic /5sfe)? If so how difficult would it be? i know its a direct drop in for my car but im not quite sure about the wiring.
well dont get me wrong, i love the 5sfe for its torque but as far as making power its not easy at all unless you go turbo and i just dont wanna go that route because of the tech issues and $$$. I'd like to stay all motor beacuse IMO its alot more reliable and also theres a nice amount of aftermarket support for the 3sge.

well as far as it being a direct bolt in...thats incorrect.
3S block has different mounting points than the 5S block. So you would need custom mounts for everything. Axles probably wont work. Youll need a new harness. Um...well lets see you'll need a new everything.
fair enough? dont do it, not worth it. would be a very difficult swap.

a boosted 5s will be around 200hp, and cost about half of the price of a conversion, NOT including the cost of the new engine
