Gen 3 Clear 3rd brake *part 2*

I've done it once with mesh painted red, once with a Camry emblem stuck in it.....now its a actuall clear lense, and here it is.
Cost $9.00

Tools needed.
-Dremel.
-Cut off wheels *if your a novice dremel user, buy these in bulk! If youve ever used them...you know why.
-dry erase marker, or something that can be erased
-Phillips screw driver.

Materials
Clear panel for drop ceiling. You know the clear panels they use in office buildings, you can pick them up at any hardware store.
One L.E.D. bulb, RED. You can use other colors, at your own risk.

DIY instructions.

Grab both sides of the 3rd brake light cover and wiggle and pull *it will come out*
Unscrew the housing *2 screws*
Take light bulb out.
Remove the 3rd brake light.
Unscrew the whiteish part from the blackish part and remove the red lense. *2 screws*
Take the red lense and trace a outline on the clear panel.
Cut the clear panel out, and trim accordingly.
Put everything back together.

**Note** On some wedge style L.e.d. bulbs I found that they do not work from the package, you have to reverse the metal connectors...just bend them to the other side and try again. Now when you use a LED for the third brake light the brake light indicator will come on in the dash, I have yet to find a solution, so I live with it, and all the rest of my cool warning lights. The reason it does this is because the led uses so little power it trips the sensor to seem like the light is burnt. No harm will be done.

Nice mod. I was just actually thinking about taking mine off and spraying it so that only CAMRY shows when it lights up. I would do this clear one, but there are no L.E.D. bulbs available her in Belize.

What I want to know if how to take that brake light off. I have a rattle coming from that brake light because of my subwoofers. I've pulled on that thing and tried wiggling it and I swear I was going to practically rip that whole thing off, I gave up because I thought I was going to damage it.

It's an ok mod I guess, nothing great and nothing ugly. It'd probably be something I'd do if I was desparate to mod my car because I have nothing else to mod kinda thing

lol i have that same problem with my car the rattleing of teh cover just fill it up with some expanding foam and you will be set, for that light on the dash to go away there are 2 options:
1: just remove the sensor
2: just add the proper resisto so that it looks like its drawing the proper amount of power

i would get you the diagram but im on a cellular connection now and its not the most picture friendly

If you're smart using the cutoff wheels (fiberglass reinforce dor not). You take two wheels and superglue, or epoxy them together.

^^Yeah it's not a 194, I don't know what size that is. I haven't seen that size here to sell in any color. I think I'm gonna invest some money in some L.E.D. bulbs and sell them here since no one else has them.
