Short Shifter for Gen 3

Does TRD or some other company sell a short shifter for the GEN 3 Camry?

My Camry SE shift feels so much like my 90 All Trac Turbo I once had. I was able to custom modify it through forums about Celicas.

I can't seem to find anything on TN about short shifters for my GEN 3 Camry.

Please help! I would love to have short shifts like a MR2 Turbo or those Hondas/Acuras.

Thanks,
Harry

You could just cut the handle down and have a shortershifter, but that doesn't reduce the length of the throws. That may even give you a harder time shifting. However, I remember reading on this very forum that with some slight modifications the gen4 TRD unit can be massaged to fit and work. Check it out with a search... it was a while back

When I used the search button not too long about I read that the corolla short shifter (or was it a gen 4 short shifter?) would be used. All that is needed is to cut away small sections of the corners. Someone posted a DIY with really sweet pictures and all. If I find it I'll foward the link.

yeah corolla one can be haked to fit, or you can just add/remove metal on the stock one.

don't know about the v6, but I should imagine that a similar yeared celica short-shifter trick or kit would work just the same. AFAIK, celicas used the same tranny as the camry's in their 5S-FE parts.

and yeah, I noticed that you have a 3VZ, just sayin' though.
