4th Generation 01 Camry, heated seats not working

Have a Gen 4 camry with 95k and both heated seats just stopped working. I checked the fuse in the instument panel and it is fine. I looked under the seat to see if anything was disconnected but all looked to be okay. Any thoughts of how it could just stop all at once? I went to the dealer and as always, very costly just to run a diagnostic let alone fix the problem.

Your help is much appreciated.

Is that just in Camrys in Canada? Because I don't think they were available in the U.S. even in 2000-01. I don't even know where they'd put the switches, because there's no holes or dummy plate in the center console or shifter trim for them.

Were these factory heated seats? Or did the dealer add them, perhaps from an aftermarket company?

These are factory installed heated seats. Not sure if they were available only in Canada. This is a Gen 4.5.. Called Toyota, they said these things usually go.. and it is EXPENSIVE to fix....

I don't know much about how they're set up, but I wouldn't think both seats would go out at the same time. Check to make sure there are no relays or fuses that you may have missed. You can do a continuity check on the seats if you can't find anything else.

Canada same problem

First post - sorry if I screw up. I have a 2001 XLE and had exactally the same thing happen to me. I bought the car new and treated it well but both heated seats stopped working just after the bumper to bumper warrenty ran out. The dealer said that both elements were burned out. I decided that if both burned out in just over three years then I wasn't spending $1000- to replace them for another three years. Canadian winters are cold but that's crazy.
