92 camry bout to take a poop

well, today i was driving my camry, and i was racing with my friend i hit 60 mph and it just stalled out of no where....

After school i got in it and it was knocking, im guessing its a rocker, but i dont care, i told my dad its about to take a shit, even though i can prolly fix it and he told me to get a new car, and i told him i was just going to swap out the motor....

Suprisingly he told me to go ahead, so ive been looking for quite a while for a 3sgte motor in good condition, i came across this website ( http://www.jdmsource.ca/ )
i can get one for $1400. comes with
Engine
Transmission
ECU
Wire Harness
This a good idea or no? Need suggestions on what i should do guys!!!!

If you're asking for comments on that particular site, you should say so. Read your post again. You asked for suggestions on the swap, and if it was a good idea or not. And what you asked for has been covered hundreds of times. For someone who is "just going to swap motors" you shouldn't need to ask questions.

I'm not going to waste more time by going to that site, but last time I checked .ca is a Canadian site. So not only is that price in Canadian, but you'd also have to ship an engine over the border.

There is so much more to a 3S-GTE swap than youll even imagine

first off you will end up needing most of an entire front half of the car it came from (unless its from a 2) a simple engine and ecu combination will not do, you need mounts, and every electronic from the 3S-GTE, its going to be at least a $5000 swap, probably more for a Camry
