3rd Generation gen3 factory spoiler wiring....

hi guys, i have a quick wiring/electrical questions. i have a 92 v6 le, and i recently found a factory spoiler at a junkyard. i installed it fine, but have had a problem finding the best way to wire it to the factory brakes. what id like to do, is wire it to the highmount brake light so that only the spoiler and tail lights works. however, i cant get to the highmount brake light wiring (without taking the rear deck off). i was wondering if any of you have installed a spoiler like this and how you wired it to your factory brake wires. thanks!

you wire it to the high mount and leave hte high mount disconnected. if youre too lazy to take the parcel shelf out i cant wait to hear how youre going to secure the spoiler on...

3rd Generation

spoiler is mounted already...used a factory template and mounting hardware. any way to wire the LED to the trunk lid brake lights or tap into the wire loom running up through the rear deck. just detached the rear deck to do a speaker install and really dont feel like messing with that again. if youve done it, im sure you can udnerstand.
thanks.

I always liked the gen3 factory spoiler...I have one and it sets the trunk off....as does the TV mounted on the trunk itself

well...for real, it takes about 5 min to get that deck off once you've done it before....

but in fact, if you want to tap thd 3rd brake light, you don't have to remove the deck...
if you just take off the cover and pull hte bulb out, you should have enough room to splice into it, and then find a way to thread it into the trunk

but yes, alrenatively, you could also just splice into one of the brake lights....not too hard and plenty more wire to work with. since they're leds on the spoiler, the current drain will be no problem

but just remember to either unhook, or remove your 3rd brake light once you get the spoiler working.....cuz it's just plain tacky to have so many brake lights going at the same time
