how hard to change cv joints on 1994 camry?

while playing with the coolant system on my female friend's 1994 4cyl camry I noticed her cv joints are on their last legs. how hard is it to change these??

do you have to open the transmission to swap them out (i.e. a clip retaining them inside the transmission??)

or do you just pop them loose from the front hub assemblies and slip them out nice and easy like??

also, if it is easy like that, what size is the big bolt on the hub assemblies??

No.

Its not like a RWD car with a solid axle.

The end of the axle going into the steering knuckle/hub unbolts.

You need to pry out the other end of the axle (the end going into the differential).

Axle nut is 30mm. IE: You need a 30mm socket.

Please do a search, axle removal has been discussed numerous times.
