3rd Generation gen3 trans fluid change Q

hello

i want to prolong the life of my weakening transmission on my 95 v6. i have heard very good things about mobil 1 synthetics and seafoam trans tune. my plan is to add seafoam trans tune and drive it around a few hundred miles, then drain the pan and replace the drained amount of fluid with mobil 1. my main question is: is it bad to mix mobil1 synthetic trans fluid and dealership trans fluid? my 2nd question is: whats up with the seafoam stuff??? is it snakeoil or does it work?

my transmission has been jerking between 3 and 4 alot lately so i hope this may help. amazingly i could afford a transmission replacement right now but i really hope to avoid it if i can. i hope to keep this car for awhile longer and am very hesitant about using this seafoam stuff but i willing to spend a few dollers to try this before i drop big money on a trans. freely make any other suggestions u may have.

Cool

Any fluids will mix fine.
Chances are it's something simple like the kick-down cable slide around, or the fluid is slow/really old.
(I put trans-tune in my car too)

Draining the pan and replacing the fluid doesn't change the majority of it, so I would change the fluid in the pan, drive a few miles, come back home, drain it again and THEN add the transtune.
That way you get the majority of the bad fluid out.

thanks toysrme. i adjusted my kick down cable a while back as part of your "free mod series" which helped the situation some but not completely. the fluid is pretty new(approx 10000 miles old) and was last changed at a toyota dealer.

another question that might seem stupid but im gonna ask anyway. is it ok to leave the seafoam in the trans if im still not due for a fluid change or do i need to drain it right after a few hundred miles. im aware its a pretty strong cleaner so will it damage anything(gaskets, seals) if i just leave in there until my next transmission fluid change which is about 15-20000 miles away? i usually am not a big fan of these type of products because it seems like a "band-aid" type of fix, i hope this works for me. ill let u know how it works after i put it in.
