I've been reading TN for months and months now, never posting, but I've got some questions about my car.
In October of 2004, I blew a piston in my stock (138,000 miles on it) engine. The whole thing was replaced by a Goodyear shop with a Jasper remanufactured 5sfe 2.2 litre engine ($5937

). Anyways, I love the new engine! It runs incredibly smoothly, and the acceleration is WORLDS better than it was.
Anyhow, my question(s) are:
Given that the engine is brand new (only has 1000 or so miles on it), what would be a good thing to do with it? Also, when the engine was replaced, what all did that include? I know they changed the engine and valve cover, but was that all? I can't really see much difference in the engine bay, except the much cleaner engine (heh).
Right now everything is stock (not sure if an engine replacement takes away a car's claim of being stock) besides the Jasper engine. Since I can start from the ground up with a super low mileage engine, would it be appropriate to have it supercharged? (I don't have the cash for this upgrade, but it's an idea for down the road).
Also, how do performance gains with a NEW engine compare to that of an engine with 150,000 miles? I mean, I know a CAI will only give you maybe 1 or 2 hp to the wheels, but does that ring true with engines of all ages and mileages? Will an engine with 1000 or so miles receive the same gains with identical hardware as an engine with substantially more mileage?
That's about it, I appreciate any input the gurus around here can offer. And yes I have searched, but not all my questions were answered to satisfaction in previous threads.
