how many plugz coming from the engine?? the plug that the intake takes in is for the IAT and if there is more than one hole on the intake tube its probably just a vacuum you need to plug up or buy those small filters from pep boys to fit onto those....the other plugz that are coming from the engine that could deal with the intake can be the MAF but that is usually integrated with the IAT...so...pictures and more details could be help ful...

The hole is for the IAT (intake air temp) sensor.

Nipple is for the crankcase breather. It should connect to the nipple on the right side of the valve cover.

There is no MAF (mass air flow) sensor on a 5S-FE. 5S-FEs use a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor.

P.S. Please don't double post. I've deleted your other thread.
