will '92 Maxima OEM rims/tires fit a '89 Camry??

My gf's 89 camrys tires are almost all shot.. i have my uncles old set of '92 maxima rims and tires.. I understand that the Maxima tires are 205 65 15.. a goo bit bigger than the stock camry.. on discount tires site it says I can plus size to a 205 55 15 but it didnt have anything about 205 65 15... Was wondering if the '89 camry can take the maxima rims and tires w/o any problems.. or else she will have to get new/used tires all around.. thanks!

only rims that fit gen2 camrys are those from the ST16x ST18x ST 20x and the latest celicas. some caldina rims may fit also but i'm nto sure. generally look for a PCD of 5x100 and an offset of +35 -> +38.

Subaru imprezas (rs, wrx etc) do have the same pcd but they have an offset of +50 IIRC. so yes you can use them as my mate did, but you will require spacers which isnt the best thing to do. your best bet would be to get some off a celica. i'd reccommend the latest model celica, be it the 15 or 16" version (16" is nicer )
