Gen 4 Center Console

Trying to get my center console out, the part w/ the cupholders etc.
I have removed the 2 screws and 2 bolts, i though that was all too it. Ive removed the shifter cover and the front plate for the radio/climate controls. It seems as in the pic that there should be a break in the trim pieces right around the bottom of the shifter. BUt it doesnt want to pull apart i feel the pull of the side pieces that run all the way to the glove box and steering column. SHould i try and pull more or remove those pieces(how) as well

i've pulled that one out, if your've got those scerws and bolts out, all thats left is the "clips" where the two peices meet near the scerws.

From memory, pull the back up high and then pull back. I out mine out using force and didnt reck anything.


How'd you pull the trim off from around the radio stack??

start from the bottom, around the cig lighter and pull up, just a whole bunch of clips

did you remove the 2 12mms under the arm rest? under the lil carpet ??

yea, the ones in the console itself, yep removed them, the back moves freely. The front not so much

theres 2 upfront under the driver and pass sides

along the side of the console
one connecting thr peice to the part under the steering wheel and another near the glove compartment did u get those

Ive checked several salvage websites etc and i cant find a place that sells center consoles.

the arm rest is all broken and stuff on mine. only thing holding it on is the 2 plastic swing arms. the plastic that connects the console to the armrest is totally destroyed.

know anywhere that sells the console? or can the armrest be repaired at all?

keep an eye on Ebay - i've gotten plenty of hard to find pieces there (search tip, just use the last 2 digits of the year and model... e.i. "97 Camry") and let the search begin... I know if i put in 96 camry i'll get about 700 items and not including the cars (the full year will have mainly cars). just be patient and keep looking... if i run across any in my searches, i'll try to hit you up.
