Gen 4.5 grille for gen 4?

I've seen a number of Gen 4 grille threads that end up with gutter guard or some other sporty grille, but I'm after a more classic, somewhat luxury, look. Has anyone found a way to get the gen 4.5 grille into the gen 4? I'm sure it would still involve cutting (if not a new bumper), but I'm curious....

Ive seen this 4.5 labeling you guys tralk about, but what is a GEN 4.5 ?
Is if 1/2 GEN 4 and 1/2 GEN 5 ?

Gen 3.5 (95-96)
Gen 4 (97-99)
Gen 4.5 (00-01)
Gen 5 (02-04)
Gen 5.5 (05-06)

When the .5 comes out, they make minor exterior and interior changes to the car

The grill in the 4.5 can be taken out, but in the 4 (my sig) it is integrated into the bumper and has to be cut out, if you want to do anything with it

Most of the posts I've read about cutting out the grille say to leave the top horizontal member. I wonder if you cut out the whole grille, is ther anything left to attach the new grille to? My instincts tell me that if were relatively simple, lots of folks would have already done it.

you'd probably have to find someway to secure it at the sides and bottom.. go to a dealership or something, where you can lift the hood and get a better view of the 4.5 grill and what you may have to do
