92 Camry Power Antenna Problems

My power antenna extends and retracts just fine but when it extends, the antenna motor keeps running. It will fully extend and the motor will keep running for about a minute then the motor shuts off. Has anybody encountered this problem before? Is there a solution besides replacing the whole unit? It is just annoying to hear the motor grinding away after the antenna is fully extended. Thanks for any help.

Must be a mast problem. The motor turns off on either a sensor or a "high" torque.

Motor running is a good sign.

Normally mast issue. Get a replacement mast, easy to install, see FAQ's. Or do a search.

Or it is time for an S2000 conversion!

Mine did the same thing now it doesnt work anymore lol. Junkyard wanted 200 for the whole unit i dont like radio that much
