Air Condition Woes on 92 Camry

Hi everyone. First post, so please don't be too harsh on me.

I have a 92 Camry V6 LE that doesn't have A/C. 160k miles, I am the original owner. A/C quit a while ago and I don't think there's any freon left. I've read that there have been a/c probs, specifically with the expansion valves or seals. I've heard of the freon conversion kit, but would that fix the problem? Also, can I do it myself or does a shop have to do it? If so, how much?

Oh yea, and i've heard of power window probs, my passenger window went out, how do I fix this issue?

thanks in advance everyone

i never really heard of a expansion valve going bad. i know they can get cloged up but i never seen one go bad. so i say yes converting will help with some of the problems. you can do most of it your self. you need to get new seals for everything (old seal have the old oil on it and wount work with the new) new dryer. and you need a couple bottles of cleaning solution. the part store will know what your talking about when you ask for it. the cleaning solution will also clean the expansion vlave when your doing it. make sure you run that cleaner through everything. you need to get a bottle of R134a oil. dont get the can of gas with the oil in it you have to prime the compressor with the new oil before you run it. then take it to a shop and have them evac your system. at this point you can leave your car like this for about a day or so and go back to check to make sure it's still under vaccume (no large leaks) or just fill it back up.

for your passanger window your going to need a voltmeter and then take the panel off the door and check from the motor back for voltage when you use the switch.once you find voltage look around there for your problem.
