93 engine wiring harness removal - urgent

I am pulling the 4 cyl engine on a 1993 Camry. I have a Haynes manual that says "disconnect all wiring connections and remove wiring harness". Not any help at all.
The wiring harness seems to be hardwired to a fuse box near the battery and the other end goes through the firewall into the depths of the dash.

Supposedly, the engine can be removed with the intake manifold still on; however, it appears that the wiring harness goes arouns the intake ports in such a way that the intake must be removed first.

Anyone have any experience with this and can give some advice. The rest of the removal seems easy compared to this wire harness.

I need to get this out tomorrow (Sunday) if possible so I am hoping someone can help me.

Thanks.

I didn't receive any responses so I did not pull the engine today. It looks like removing the throttle body and EGR valve may allow the wiring harness to move over the intake but not sure.

My experience is that Toyota makes their cars to sell for less and be dependable but very expensive to repair. Now I know why the dealer quoted $1,150 to replace the head gasket.

Hopefully, somone here has pulled one of the 4 cyl engines before and remember how they got the wiring harness off.

Leave the intake manifold alone, you don't need to remove it.

1. Remove the glovebox and passenger side lower dash, the ecu is behind it. Unplug everything from the ecu.

2. Unbolt (2 nuts) the wiring harness from the firewall. Then pull the harness through the hole and drape it over the engine.

The fuse box in the engine bay unbolts. Unbolt it and unplug the engine wiring harness from it.

Thanks, I will try it.

I had removed the firewall boot in hope that there would be a connnector behind it but saw none so I put it back. The Haynes book said nothing about removing part of dash and disconnecting cables there.

I"ll let you know how it turns out.

Haynes leaves a lot of stuff out.

Trust me, you need to remove the passenger side lower dash and glovebox.

Or you can try and disconnect the engine wiring harness with the engine still in the car. Which is a pain in the ass. So take the easy route and do what I said.

Hole in the firewall

ECU (the engine wiring harness is unplugged)
