It seems to be coming from the rear exhaust manifold area. Does it look as difficult to get to as it seems at first?
Are the exhaust parts for this car expensive?
It's causing erratic acceleration when the vehicle isn't fully warmed up. Not really a problem but annoying. I don't want it to get any worse before I fix it so any suggestions would be helpful.
to take it off, YES to get to it, no, go from underneath, you MAY have to remove ya y pipe though ^^
from the top take then intake plenum off.

I would take it out to weld it. It may be cracked in multiple places. This often hurts low-end torque a little bit and can cause an anoying clipping noise when cold!

That's exactly what's happening. It's making a clipping noise when cold.

Okay, I took it to the shop today and they gave me a $500 estimate. $360 was for the y pipe, about $30 was in gaskets and the rest was in labor. No way I'm having them do it; the car is only worth $1200.
Called up an auto parts store, the y pipe is a special order part that is $280.
I found a place called Cheap Exhaust that has the pipe for $160. What do you think? I plan on getting rid of the car by next summer so I just need it to work for another year.
