97 camry XLE speaker replacement - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

hi guys. as you've probably guessed, i own a 97 XLE with 6-speakers. the front driver's side door speaker is either cracked, or if it's possible, loose from slamming it shut for so long. i get a horrible gargled noise whenever the bass is up, though i can make this go away temporarily if i bump the door with my knee or re-shut it. i'd like to check and maybe fix the problem myself and avoid the labor costs. any expect opinions on how to do this? thanks!

What you might want to do is, Pull the door panel off, pull the speaker out, check the solder on the -/+ wires, make sure they are not loose if they are... you can re solder it if you have the tools to do so.

If the speaker is loose, tighten it. if its blown.... just replace it with a speaker you can find at circuit city, best buy... ect...
