i've got a 93 v6, really all there is to it is the downpipe goes into the car, and then runs to a resonator and to the muffler. Does your exhaust seem louder than normal? there is a metal sheild around the downpipe and the cat. If you could get pictures it may be easier.

exhaust

I was barley able to get my head underneath the car its pretty low to the ground but i was able to get a look at it.. you have a pipe coming down from the engine and it looks like it clamps there then it comes down with another pipe that clamps to the cat... that pipe right before the clamp has a metal shield around the pipe thats loose i felt exhaust coming out before the clamp.. i was hopeing someone had a diagram of it so i could get a good look at it.. Im trying to get her to take a day off so she can bring it by my job so i can atleast get it up on stands so i can get a really good look at it to see whats needed for the job..

its probably your flex pipe that is leaking. my flex pipes just plain broke off. i have since welded the exhaust up and am waiting on a new downpipe unit.

well....first off, none of you guys have downpipes, since you all have v6s...it's a y-pipe, then a cat, then resonator (I think stock has it...I don't quite remember...) and the muffler....

and what makes you think that your cat is clogged?

if it's making noises and you're losing power, as ^ said, check your flexpipe to see if its leaking...one of hte main problems with the y-pipes

exhaust

I think its a clogged cat because its making alot of noise and yes the car feels like its lost power.. also you can barley feel the exhaust coming out of the muffler at an idle but when the engine is rev'd you can feel it more.. like i said it really looks like the pipe befor ethe cat is cracked because i was able to just barley touch it and it moved a bit.. im waiting for it to come by my job so i can lift it to take a better look.. so straight off the exhaust manifold it comes down as a Y pipe into the cat then the resonator then the muffler?

do you smell sulfer/rotten eggs when you really get on it? usually if its plugged you will smell it. like the others said check the flex pipe, jack it up follow the path front to back looking for holes or excessive black soot.

see if a local muffler shop can diagnose it for you. minimal expense my shop look at mine for nothing. they wanted to sell me a system......
