Gen5 Owner of a 06 Camry

I just recently purchased an 06 camry le 4 cylinder, after my acura legend was totalled.
I just wanted to know what are all the mods possible for a camry, performance and exterior wise.

I'm also thinking about swapping my cloth seats for leather seats front and back if i can find a set. would it be a direct replacement??

thanks guys keep up the great work on this forum, i hope to stick around for a while.

I was also wondering about getting factory fog lights, but it there's not slot for it to fit like wat i've seen on some of the forum member's cars. do i have to cut out that area? or is there an easy way to access tat area?

If the two pieces on the fog light holes don't pop out and are molded with the bumper, you will have to cut them out. Also, there are no aftermarket Gen 5.5 fog lights yet, so the only way to get them is through Toyota, which is gonna cost you an arm and a leg.

There aren't many aftermarket parts for Camry's in general, as I, and many others, have stated in the past. You've got your regular TRD parts (springs, muffler, strut brace, sway bar)... but thats about it. KYB makes struts, a few companies make springs, Injen makes an SRI, and a few companies make body kits. Thats about it for our aftermarket backing. You're going to have to do everything else custom. Good luck.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

as mentioned, 5.5 is the step child orphan right now. we have to wait for oem parts to reach us... other than what White and others have mentioned.

yea man there are some very good updates for the gen. 5 cam. first of you need to get a Short Ram Intake from Injen. second, get exhaust headers custom made from JP Performance at www.jpperformancellc.com and then get a custom exhaust made.

after that is done you will notice a raspy noise, you are going to have to buy a custom resonator to get the raspy noise to go away. i am having this problem right now i just ordered my custom resonator and after that it will sound deep and clean as a whistle. you can also update you camcon which will unleash about 30 hp and then of course, a custom TURBO kit but that will be the most difficult part of it all good luck !!!

The Gen 5 and Gen 5.5 fog lights are NOT THE SAME.

What do you call them?

On my 5.5 Camry, there were covers over where the fogs were supposed to be. I was told that they come out from behind. There was no cutting necessary.

On the header, keeping the CEL off is going to be a challange. Plus, if you wanted to add a turbo, you might not want to spend time and money replacing the stock manifold since a turbo kit would do the same thing most likley. On some cars an exhaust manifold replacement adds NO horse power, so I would want to see some dyno results, has anyone actually tested a 5th gen on a dyno to see what a header does hp wise?

Not that a camry is a race car, but it you want to make it fast as possible, and streetable, go with a forced induction setup and be done with it, that is where the big HP gains are. Save up 4-5 grand and do it right, but that's just me. Not that i plan on adding a turbo to my car but it would be pretty sweet to see a big front mount intercooler looming up front.

i saw some on E-Bay too. i think there are 3 sellers claiming they fit the 05 too: X3 Racing, K2 Motors, and Stylinconcepts. the pics look nice, but i am sceptical that if i do buy them they will not fit, but then again, i could just cut out the exact measurements/dims of the fog lights ordered and fit them in place. only thing would the length, etc... would have to center them if there is some slack then may not look too good.
