Anyone Dyno their 05 camry?

Hey guys, does anyone have a dyno graph of a new camry...year doesnt really matter as long as its the current generation, and the 4 cylinder. I need it for a comparison paper and google isn't turning anything up.

Thanks,
Bob

compare to what? you cant compare one dyno sheet to another dyno sheet because 99% of the time its run on a different dyno, or even the same dyno, with different software revision or settings whihc will throw numbers off.

I'm comparing it to a prius, because the mags rated the prius as faster than the 4cyl camry even tho total power output is less, and i wanted to see if the torque curve with the electric motor is flatter and higher than the curve from a conventional engine. thats why i wanted to see the 4cyl engine....

anybody got a dyno graph?

The Prius may have a lower power output than the Camry, but notice it also weighs less too - I wouldn't be surprise its faster.

Prius:
Total hp = 110 hp (Hybrid System Net Power)
Total Torque (egine + electric motor) = 82+295 = 377 lb.-ft (not sure if this is correct way to add it)
wieght = 2890 lbs

Camry:
Total hp = 154 hp
Total Torque = 160
weight = 3164 lbs

Sometimes, power doesn't account difference in comparring speed. See how a 1.8L I4 Celica GT-S with 180hp can out accelerate a 3.0L V6 Camry with 210hp.

I know it cant be a true comparison because it's two different cars, weights, etc...

what im curious to see is how the power curves stack up.

consider this: The prius makes 295ft/lbs from 0-1200 rpm, where the gas engine is making practically nothing. the electric motor doesnt make that kind of torque up top though, but the gas engine is making more torque.

the result is a pretty flat torque curve across the entire power band. what I'm really interested in comparing is how the torque curves match up. I'd expect to see a much less steady torque curve for the camry, with less torque at the beginning and more dropoff at the end. Area under the curve is more imporatant than peak numbers in most cases, so I just need some type of general comparison.

As far as my report goes, I'm not just comparing them based on that, ithat would be a kind of apples to oranges comparison. it's more to show that hybrid power can make a solid case even without the strongest gas engine, because of the flexibility the torque curve provides.
