I think I may have done the first '06 Camary brake job in So Cal.
Long story short I have a friend who bought a '06 Camary for his girlfriend. She left the E-Brake on from Orange to Stanton, roughly 15 or so miles. BBQed the rear brakes on the poor thing. One drum came off just fine the other took me about 40 minutes to get off, the darn thing was welded onto the spindle. Luckilly the bearings and grease still seemed to be good. After getting that sucker off I was off to two diffrent Toyota dealers one that said they have the shoes, the had the Japanese ones, and then finally to one that did have the shoes 30 miles away. Once I got back home the brakes snapped back together without a hitch and I was able to get the car out of the backyard and back over to my friend before 7:30 (I started the job at about 12:30).
Lesson learned: The Camarys come in two flavors, Japanese and American make sure you specify the correct make.
Oh and I saw a build date stamp on one of the rear struts, 10-27-05 that poor car is bearly over 3 months old and it's already getting beat on like this. Sorry to see what it will look like in a few years.
