USA Engine Upgrade for 02 Camry

Hello i'm trying to upgrade my 2002 camry LE engine to get more horse power out of it. I would like to know what is the best way to go about it and who makes performance parts for it. I know that the Scion TC has the same engine that my camry has and they have upgraded the TC to 500 hp can i use the upgrade parts they sell for the TC on my Camry. Any help will be well appreciated.

Can you post more specs about ur car? V6? Manual? Maybe you might want to look into forced induction.

I think he has the 4 cylinder. What most people say to do is exhaust work, especially the Y-Pipe? after that if that's not enough then.....an intake will help with throttle response.

The tC was heavily rebuilt to get that kind of horsepower. If you wanted to do something cheap always start with an intake and exhuast. If you really want to go nuts you could buy a tc Supercharger and buy a separate A/F controller. that would give yo usome boost to play with and a nice sound for intimidation perposes. If you really want to spend the money...Sell your 4cyl and buy a Camry SE with the 3.3 litre engine. if you buy anything less then the SE you will only get a 3.0 litre engine.

or wait for the 07 and get the 3.5 Liter SE. 268 HP will definitely suffice your needs. plus you could probably add a supercharger if they come out with one. which will put you in the 300s.

but if you really want that power from a 4 cyl. Major upgrades are needed like a supercharger.

Yah, do what everyone else does, grab one of them shiny pipes and hook it up to your Intake manifold, and weld that thing on your exhaust, jk Definately, Work on that stuff. If thats not enough, go with a engine overhaul, upgrade pistons rods and do some cylinder head work, and if you STILL want more, the only extra ponies you can get is forced induction, or some kind of injection.(Nitrous Oxide) thats all of the obvious stuff, there alot of things you can do with an engine for horse power you just have to find what suits you best. Its all about what you want. Most people want MORE MORE MORE!!!

Start Small, and work your way up, this way you learn your engine, and learn your car.

the motor is good for boost, takes work and money however. there are turbo kits out for it.. you can do a search on the net and find some.
