I bought and attempted to install doorsills that light up when the doors open, however they did not come with any instructions and when I attempted to connect the positive wire to the door switch it did not work. Of course I grounded the wire, I was wondering why there is only one wire coming from the door switch and where I could hook up the wires to the door sills will light up when I open the doors.
I also bought a aftermarket footlight kit off of eBay. It did not come with a switch, however I was told I could hard wire it. I attempted to do so but, the kit I believe is missing some wires so, I contacted the dealership and they said they could not help. Could anyone give this rookie some advice?
One more thing, lol. Has anyone found any cold air intakes for their Gen 5 4cyler Camry’s? I’m, not sure if getting the Injen or the Dragon Type R short ram intake is worth it.

im not sure about the wiring. im ussually good at this stuff but id have to look at it to figure it out.
The door pin switches use a negative trigger. In other words you have it hooked up wrong.
Tie the positive lead to constant +12V. And the negative lead to the door pin switch or the door trigger wire (I have no idea where it is on a gen 5 though).
Door trigger wire is also negative trigger, but it outputs whenever any door is open. The door pin switches only work for the door its tied to.
Head unit under $500 I say go with eclipse all the way.
Do you have pictures of the products, this might help make sense of things, also would give us something to look at.
As far as Intakes go, you will not get a SIGNIFICANT increase in HP according to most people on this forum, its been said that you will more than likely loose HP... But most people seem to agree that it does give the engine a nice sound... Conclusion, Let it be what suites your budget.
That happened to me, got some el door sills from hong kong, and of course they give me no directions. and wondered how I was going to wire these. Ran two wires connected to (I think the red wire) on the dome light. Had them go down both of the center columns so I can hook up one side of the front and rear door sills. BECARE OF NOT BLOWING FUSE, accidently did that. Grounded one of the wires from the door sill transmittor and combined the three positive wires so they would turn on when the dome light would be on, and of course thats when and only the door opens. I have some pictures, Ill host them if I can still find them.
Heres some pics of the install and day time pics. Sorry the install pics arn't the best and educational but Ill try and take some more to make it more tutorial and I should of took the finish product at night, to get the el blue light effect. but here you go anyways.
I"m sorry, but those lighted sills are just too ricey for my taste. I only have chromed ones......though, I'm gonna rechange them again to the factory OEM ones.

your opinion is your opinion, atleast its not a brick of light glowing when you open the door, just the glowing camry letters. but atleat im not glowing led arrays of light all inside and underneath my car, now i believe thats where ricey starts. Now if they had comple door sills that went around on top and connected into the interior, id be all over them instead of the overlaping tape one ones
I get nothing but compliments for my door sills, I also have the EL ones from hong kong.
I had a good mechanic install them, only problem is that one is burnt out so I have to replace it somehow. Also I guess some moisture got underneath all of them because I am noticing little rust spots. Oh well......
yeah I noticed little rust stains underneath my stock door sills, but was able to just wipe it away. Sportivo, its really easy.---There are two parts of the pillar. the bottom one which connects into the top half of the pillar and also into the front and rear door sill by simply popping it out. After removing that, there are two interior screws on the bottom of the top pillar. Then whats left is just simply popping that part of that pannel out. Leaving the interior part of the pillar out. Hope this helps
