Buying '02 Camry

Hello Toyota Nation,

I'm in the process of buying an '02 Camry LE, w/80K miles. Any advice, things to look for, expected maintenance, etc.... I'm looking for longevity and I think the Camry is the way to go. Thanks.

Well I owned a 02 Camry until I totaled it. It had 50k miles on it. Well I know it eats brakes up quickly, went through 2 transmissions, and engine tapping noises after a while which led to horrendous gas milage. But saying all that means nothing it is a good car that will last just don't drive it hard *AT ALL* and it will last forever.

Ummm Its a good car, I have an 02 LE V6 I can't speak for the four cylinder! But I love my car I guess. I mean its a good car nothing engine wise has gone wrong and transmission wise its fine. Good on gas even with the V6. Ummm change belts at 70K miles! And I would switch to synthetic oil! Change the transmission fluid have a power flush! IF not done yet and check your break calipers I had one go bad! Luckly I was able to rebuild it without having to buy a whole new caliper! I have almost 70 k and still original front break pads! rear had to replace because of that bad rear caliper! Um My original continental tires wore out after 20k! All in all the only problem has been my caliper and that most likely was a fluke!
