Body Side Molding for 07 Camry

I just ordered the 07 Camry (v6). It does not come with body side moldings which I would like to have. It's a dealer option. I would like to install it myself since the dealer charges an arm and a leg. Has anyone out there done this? I've been told it's a "piece of cake." Thx!

Chuck:)

well since it is a brand new car there is probably noone on here that has actually had the opportunity to do it on taht particualr model.

However it should jsut be double sided tape that holds it onto the side of thcar so it should pretty much jsut be a matter of marking the side of the car in a couple of spots and taping it on. You need to make sure it is very clean before doing this though so you will not ahve trouble with it in the future. You want to mark the car in several different spots down the side of the body to make sure it doesnt end up crooked.

^same as i was thinking, but can the stuff that is tapped to the door be gotten from the dealer? i really have no idea, i always thought that the door was made different so that the molding could be in-set into the door panel. but i guess it could work either way.

most likely it will be a poly type application so it will be a little flimsy, so make extra precautions to be sure that it is straight and not wavy like chris said. good luck

ohh yeahh, PUT SOME PICS UP!!!

well on teh gen3's and maybe 4's ther ewas a channel to put the body side molding into but on the Gen 5 I think they did away with it. either way you can add it you jsut want to make sure that you get it from teh dealer since it should be color matched from teh factory. I am not sure about the Gen5 loosing the channel and I am not positive about the gen4 having it either. But there are many manufacturers that put the molding on teh cars but do not ahve the channel for it they jsut attach it straight to the body and hope that it lines up right if the dealer does it.
