Would like to know if anyone out there knows if a 05-06 Gen 5 grille will fit in the 02? I like the newer style SE grille and would like to put it in my 02 if possible. Thanks in advance.

Yea, I'm going to order up the newer SE grille. I think it looks much better with the centered emblem and the black mesh. I also learned today that the emblems are the same in all Gen 5 grilles which means I can use my black pearl emblem which I replaced my chrome one with. I also replaced my chrome rear emblem with the black pearl which looks much better with the other black SE emblems.

Was replacing the Toyota 'T' difficult? I used the dental floss technique to replace all the other emblems, but it doesn't seem like it will work with the 'T'.
Edit: I'm referring to the rear 'T', not the one in the grille.

I use a new single edge razor blade and slide it carefully between the emblem and lid. You must be very careful not to scratch the paint. Then I work the blade about a 1/4 the way around the emblem. Take the blade out and get your finger nails under the emblem and pull up steadily. You can feel the double sided tape give way and then just pull the emblem off. I use my finger nail again to get most of the tape off the lid and some solvent to get the rest off. My way is not the safest way, but it works everytime. I can't emphasize enough to be careful with that blade!!

^ There are like about 7 nuts that you unscrew from behind the grille, and then you just replace. 5 minutes max. Very easy. There'll probably be some dirt stuck on the hood where the old grille's 'T' emblem covers the hood a little.
