News???

Well I hope your dealer has told you something and you just haven't passed it along yet. Surely they have had time to find and correct your problem. Let us know.

Hello Everyone,

Well sorry not keeping you guys up to date but really there hasnt been any changes as of yet. The car is still at the dealership and I'm suppose to pick it up today but I called this morning already and currently I'm waiting for a phone call back cause there are still missing a part so I don't even know if i will get it back today but I'm hoping. I think one of the art that needed to be replaced was a torgue converter and that is what the dealership is currently waiting for.

Will keep you guys posted

This is really unacceptable! You started having issues with the car on March 24th, 18 days later you still don't have your brand new car. And you've been stuck with a car that's not even in the same size class as the car you're supposed to have.

A few points:

1) Your dealership has been totally unreceptive to allowing the possibility that there's something with a newly designed car.

2) They were trying to place blame on you.. "you put bad gas in" "you misused the car" "you don't know how the smart key system works"

3) They get around to diagnosing the car A WEEK later after you bring it in and finally discovered that it's not YOUR FAULT.

4) They haven't made this a priority

Make sure these things are always fresh in mind the next time one of their customer "service" reps try to shift the blame/change the issue/delay. I say, if you don't have your new car in the next few days. it's PEOPLE's Court Time.

No seriously, it sounds like they've been negligent in fulfilling their duties as a dealer. Who knows how many other customers are getting this kind of treatment because no one's taken them on.

Hey Guys,

Well, wish me luck cause I just got confirmation that my car is being returned to me today. The parts required came in yesterday and as I'm writing this everything is being put together. I will post once I know what actually was the issue and what needed to be replaced just in case someone else has the same issue that I had. Plus I wanted to thank that person who posted the 1800 # for toyota cause that is who I called yesterday to raise some hell and all of sudden the car is ready for me the next day. Well thanks everyone again

You are welcome. Glad that I could be of assistance. I thought that the 800 number might help.

Good Lord...what an ordeal. Now of course I will be checking my new 07 Camry. *sigh*

Just to let people know that do not know this: Never fill your tank at a Gas Station while you see a Tanker in there. In some states it is illegal to pump gas while the Tanker is filling the main tanks. Reason? All Gas Stations tanks have water settled in the bottom of them...the Tanker will stir it all up and you end up with a batch full of water in YOUR tank.

Working at a toyota dealership we have seen about 3 new v6 camrys come in with new transmission problems. Today rumors are that they have fixed the problem. About 2 weeks ago it seems toyota held back the second round of 2007 camrys for about 2 weeks in the compound in Toronto. I am wondering if they fixed the tranny issues because it seams that the very first camrys are suffering from this problem.

When you say transmission problems, do you know what exactly? Is it the transmission itself, or solenoids, control unit, seals, etc. Tranny problem that is scary, very costly to fix. I had a 95 Passat Auto, it was a nightmare and VW did dick all to recall or fix it. spent $4000 to fix it and even fix the problem would re-occur (solenoids and poor seals), just plain poor design.

Anyone know if it is country related where the cars are built? Does that make a difference?

As for the topic of the thread...my only issue is I don't like the Tilt wheel as compared to GM style. I can only move it up and down in two places. I want it Lower in my lap almost, like my GM cars do. However I do like the telescopic column tho....

Torque Converter seems to be problem in the 2007 camry acting up. So they end up placing the whole tranny. It also seems that Lexus has delayed the launch of the ES 350 due to the tranmission problem which is built in Japan. But i think toyota has fixed the problem with the second batch of camry. We have been deliverying them for about 2 weeks and no tranmission problems to date.

Wow, that is strong statement, they have not been out long enough to really know if the 4's are flawless? Do you feel this way because the engine is similar to the 06/05, etc with just a few changes to add a few ponies??

Are the trannies similar from 05/06 to the new 07 on the LE 4's?
