Yeah I'm seconding the V6 SE. I love mine.

Make sure you test drive both the SE and the XLE though, the SE has a noticeably stiffer ride, and you might not like that.

I was trying forever to figure that out...the salespeople at my Dealership didn't know. *sigh*

Then it dawned on me. It is the rubber mat that is glued to the top of the rear bumper. It protects the finish on the bumper so you can lay a box there and open your trunk...

the silver looks good plus it has V6 as bonus. the black is eqaully appealling but i'll wait for a blue SE V6

If the red one was an SE I would go with it. I sorta like the chrome trim ring around the grill on the XLE though. I know it is a very minor detail. MAybe an XLE with some nicer wheels and you could always do lowering springs once they are available if you want the stance of the SE. THere is jsut something about that red.

At first I thought it was just the little "Toyota" logo, pictured here:



But, it is indeed a full-length clear plastic covering over the top of the rear bumper, to indeed protect it from all of the usual trunk loading and unloading activities we'll likely do. By "full length" I mean from one end of the trunk opening to the other -- all of that is covered with the clear plastic, which goes down over the "edge" of the top of the bumper for about an inch of the "back" of the bumper. Or is that the "front" of it? You can barely see the edge of it in the picture above.

At any rate, the "Toyota" logo is just silk-screened on the middle of the big, clear plastic "applique."
