Angry 2007 Camry Seat Belt Trunk Sunroof Problems. Rotten Eggs

O.k. I had an '05 Camry from Toyota Of Des Moines that smelled like rotten eggs all the time... Catalytic Converter right? Toyota says "No".. They say it's the gas I use. BS. Why didn't any of my other cars ever smell like that then- Especially my wife's '05 Highlander? Toyota wouldn't fix it so I had to live with it of trade it in. I decided to trade it in because they gave me a lot for my car. Now I have an '07 Camry that has been in the shop since I got it. ( They gave an '06 Avalon for a loaner). I drove it home and popped the trunk to put my clubs in it, but the damn trunk wouldn't shut. Back to the dealership it goes. It gets fixed then the sunroof quits opening..then works... then quits.... Back to the shop it goes. That was last Friday. Monday rolls around and they tell me to come pick it up. I get there and they said they "Re-Initialized" it and it seems to be working. MORE BS. I get in the car and it stops working again. Now they decide to order a new switch for it. It is now Wednesday and I'm still in the Avalon. I only have 300 miles on my Camry. Anybody else having problems like this???????

Now to the Seat belt alarm. I could disable it in my '05 Camry and in the '06 Avalon, but the procedure doesn't work for my '07 Camry. YES I WEAR MY SEAT BELT, but I don't think I should have to strap in my gym bag or a gallon of milk from Casey's. A gallon of milk sets off the alarm.... Who weighs less than a gallon of milk? RIDICULOUS!!!! Has anybody figured out how to disable the alarm on th '07 Camry yet??????? Please help!!

So much for the problem-free toyota ... It's time to import them from Japan again.

As for the alarm, I drive a '96 that doesn't even have power windows, so I can't help ya.

A gallon of milk sets off the alarm....
Not much help here, I'm afraid. My "made in Japan" 2007 sure hasn't had any problems like that at all!

Mainly, I just recommend putting the gallon of milk into the "floor box" in the trunk, that's designed to perfectly hold a gallon jug like that.... I'm sure no help with disabling the seat belt alarm, that's for sure.

Good luck -- hopefully this will all soon be just a distant memory! Either that, or tell them to give you a different car and "enough of this nonsense!" Not that I'd expect too much success with that!

Made in USA

Just a FYI... mine was made in the USA. Make sure you get an imported one if you are buying one. I don't think there's any way my car would have passed an inspection in Japan. Very sad, but if that's the quality I'm going to get by buying an American Toyota I'll never do it again. $28,000 for a poorly assembled car just doesn't work for me.

seems there are more and more of the dodgy 07 camry stories coming out. Should wait untill they release a "series 2".
