Is my '05 trying to tell me something?

Hey Guys... great forum here.

Here's my problem. Every time I get out and lock my '05 Camry I get 5 quick horn beeps about 10 minutes later. At first I thought I was pushing the 'panic button' while the remote was in my pants, but it happens all the time. I have looked through the owners manual, and searched the message boards. I am stumped!

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

exactly, my 04 doesn't have the beep sound, but I guess mine doesn't come with the alarm.

you've got me all i can think of is if you have a aftermarket alarm but it sounds like you have the stock one that comes with the car

Some alarms will give off a sound if the battery is low. I'm not sure if this is the case with a factory alarm. When you are driving the battery is charging, then once you park your car, the voltage starts to drop on a weak battery. But if you have a GEN5, not likely a battery problem... hmmm. this is a puzzling one. but check the battery just in case.

This is usually an indication that there is a problem with the alarm system circuit. It could be as simple as there is a door ajar, one of the door switches not working, or one of the door locks isn't working etc.... Have the alarm system checked. Alarm System fault.

I have an 04 that got into an accident on the passenger right front. After the accident I have the same thing that you described. But it only happens when I park on my driveway facing forward (my driveway is inclined about 30 degrees). It never happens any other time, so when I park in my drive way I now reverse in with my nose down. I figure it's related to the alarm system tilt sensor or such (I have the OEM Toyota Alarm).

Hope this helps,

Mike
