07 Camry XLE V6 - Costco, Carsdirect???

Hello Everyone,

Looking to buy an XLE V6 with at least nav. I've searched the forum but can't figure out how to go about getting the best deal. I thought I saw somewhere that dealers or salespersons can't be named on this forum. Can the information be pm'd to me?

Thanks in advance,

RT

Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate.

Pick a couple dealers, go in and tell them what you are willing to pay. Be prepared to walk if they won't please you.

There is alot of profit on these cars for dealers, your mission is to minimize it, and get a good deal for yourself.

Be nice and ask the sale manager to show you the inventory log (showing their invoices) and stick with the invoice or give some lack (couple hundreds) for limited models like SE V6, etc.

Goodluck,

I bought a 2007 Camry XLE V6 for $26285 before taxes, tags and title. It was the only V6 they had on the lot. This was on Apr 23 2006.

Here's the sticker:
Base $27,520
Options $1,310
Manuf. Delv, Proc & Hndlg $635
Subtotal $29,465
Documentation Fee $399
Total $29,864
Selling Price $29,364

The only options are Carpet Mats and Trunk mats. This was in Charleston, SC.

Like the first reply said Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate.

Know what model options and color you want.

Email or fax every dealer within 50 miles asking for the best price on that vehicle and tell them how you plan to pay for it.

With a cash deal, you s/b able to buy it for $300 over dealer invoice, that is the Kbb or edmunds invoice +$400-500 for Toyota advertising fee.

Converse by email, go pick it up and be gone in 15 minutes.

or you can waste hours in a salesman's sweat shop and pay more.

Costco prices were not out when I bought mine 6 weeks ago but the Costco dealer said no way could he match $300 over invoice.

Costco

It doesn't hurt to get a Costco price from the participating dealers. It can come to a few hundred to a thousand dollars over invoice. It is a starting point if you are a negotiator or a reasonable price if you hate to negotiate. Or you can print out the Edmunds invoice price as a starting point. There are regional add ons like in the SE where the distributor rips off advertising fees from the dealers which they pass on to you.
My price was about $1000 over invoice, about $1200 under MSRP. I am sure you can do better if you negotiate but I am bad at quibbling...
Good luck!

Advice

Check out edmunds.com, kbb.com, autos.msn.com and carmax.com for prices. Prices change with the area your in. Good luck. Jon.

Was that at Gene Reed or West Ashley?

Gen6

Got my LE in early October. Titanium V6 with leather, package D, and window tint for 25k. Sticker was 27,131 plus tint. They had to order it and it came in about 6 weeks. I'm in Gulf States region so they also have to figure in the advertising fees. They did the window tinting for free so I don't know the value of it, but otherwise it was 2131 under sticker. I figured it was a good deal. Purely internet deal with no haggle. One other dealer groaned when I asked if he could meet or beat.
