5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just ordered the wife an 07 Camry LE V6 in Super White. The dealer can install 18" BBS wheels, but I haven't seen them, so I've ordered standard 16" steel wheels and wheel covers for now. I'd like some ideas on 18" wheels and tire sizes for the car. What looks good, fits, pictures, etc???
P.S. I'm 41, not a boy racer, modifier, just want it to look better than the wheels offered by Toyota. Thanks.........
Personally, I think the new Camry's should and only sport the VIP style until someone can prove otherwise...
so I would say chrome and whatever suits YOU
I would first take delivery of the car for two reasons. 1. If you order the 18s at the same time, they are going to take your original wheels/tires and just give you the 18s, vs if you order them after the fact you will have both sets. I switch between my 16" TRD BBS wheels for winter and my 18" Konig Unknowns for summer. 2. If you pay $2000 from the dealership you are paying WAY too much. Check out discounttiredirect.com and tirerack.com for BBS wheels that are exactly like what you want but cheaper or if you want to go through toyota check out Concord Toyota (in NC) at toyotaparts4u.com or Conecilli Toyota (in PA I believe) at partznet.com. You're paying a premium by going through a dealer. BTW I believe the 18s will be just the same as offered on the 2002-2006 which are the BBS RX, check out the aforementioned (non dealer) related websites, there are wheel simulators to show you what the wheel will look like on your vehicle. Let me know if you have any other questions. Jon.
I saw an 07 Camry at the dealership today with BBS wheels and 235/45/18 tires. Are they the same OD as the standard 16" tire?
Would there be any problems with installing a slightly larger OD tire? I like to fill up the wheel wells.
Are those the American Racing Black Casino rims? I had those on my new LE for one day...there were too many defects in them. However, they look good on a silver car tho...

Seems there are a lot of custom wheel manufactures out there. I would feel safe buying wheels by BBS or Konig. I've seen some nice looking wheels by ICW and Driftz, but not sure of the quality. Any issues with these other brands?
