Gen 5 Wheel problem
Hi, all. I own a 2002 SE with 4cyl. and auto trans. The right front wheel has always sounded like it is out of alignment or out of balance with a whump, whump sound that increases or decreases with faster or slower speed and it sounds like the same spot after spinning one rotation of the wheel . After rotating, balancing and new tires, the sound has returned. Are my wheel bearings bad or something else? It's not the wheel or tires as they have been rotated and a new set on it. Even with the spare on, you can hear it. How hard to do wheel bearings on this car as it has been years since I have done any?
Thanks in advance and ask any questions because I really hate to give up this car due to this but my wife is freaked out by it and convinced the wheel is going to fly off of it.
