tire discussion for 07 camry

I have a few questions on which tire is good for the new camry.

1. how does size of the tire affect driving (bigger tire, better braking)?
2. which size of the tires works better for warm summer and which one work better for snowy winter?
3. where to get nice looking rim and its cost?
4. cost of the tire and labor to put tire to the rim or is it easy to do it myself?
5. what's the point of rotating tire?

finally, which rim/tire do you guys have on your camry? do you guys use the all-season tire or switch between season? it's almost summer and time to get those camry babe out for a nice ride, so think tires!!

I don't have answers to your questions. However, when its time to change my original 215/60/16 tires, I am thinking of upsizing it to 225/60/16 but keep everything stock.

I already have a good set of Michellin 225/60/16 from my other car, plus I want to give my Camry a slightly wider footprint.

What do you guys think? Will it be OK to upsize the stock tire to 225/60/16? The diameter will be about 0.47" bigger (radius only 0.24" more). Do you think I'll have any cleareance issue, or hurt the engine in any way? Do you think it will fit the original rims?

What do you think. Is it OK to upsize from 216/60/16 to 225/60/16 on the original rims?

I’m not sure what Gen and Year your Camry is but here are the guaranteed wide tire sizes you can fit on a 16 inch wheel. For a 2002 - 2006 Toyota Camry 5th Gen, the widest is 215/60-16, and for 2007 – 2011 Toyota Camry 6th Gen, the widest is 235/55-16.

With my wild guess of you having a 5th Gen Camry sitting on stock rims 16x6.5, there is a possibility for you to have 225/60-16 since it only has about .5 inch difference but not on aftermarket rims 16x7. With 225/60-16 it will only throw-off your odometer and mileage just a bit slow at about 1 mph which is good if you wanna keep more miles on the reading.

2002 - 2006 Toyota Camry 5th Gen

195/60-16
195/65-16
205/60-16
215/55-16
215/60-16

2007 – 2011 Toyota Camry 6th Gen

195/65-16
205/65-16
225/60-16
235/55-16

1.Better handling, more comfortable, but the extra tread might wear down your mpgs just a litttle bit. more surface area = better braking
10mms extra tread not that much, esp on 60 profiles.
2.In the snow, it depends on what kind of snow obviously, hard ice vs soft snow that your tires can cut through. once again, we're talking about a 10mm difference for daily driving. if you're worried about snow just get some chains..
3. just search online..., usually the manufacturer's website links you to their distributor = websites you can buy from.
wheeldude.com, etc.
4. you can't put a tire on yourself...you need machines man. otherwise your gonna fck up your tire/rim with the straight crowbar. i dont even know where to begin with this question lol
if you REALLY want to save yourself 5-10$ for a single tire and trading hours of agonizing labor, then youtube "tire mounting DIY" or something. pretty hilarious.
5. here's purpose of it

if you want to know which rims we have just use the search option, or the pictures thread, or the fitment thread (both which are stickied) and various member's "update" thread contains pictures and lists which wheel they're running......

most daily drivers who don't care about performance or grip just use all-season.
i personally only use hi-performance because it costs less and looks better on rims.
yes there are people who switch rims/tires depending on what season it is and where they live, but
here in socal, hi-performance all year is fine.

I went from stock size 205/55 to 275/35 (on different rims) lol there's no problem, just wider tires = less MPG.
the grip is insane though, what is sliding out?

you really should try to google some of your questions. no offense.

Yes 10mm is fine..
just throws the speedometer off by 1-2% that is all...
*assuming a 225/60 fits on your original rim width.
check manufacturer website.
