Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Have a question for the new 07 Camry owners. How many miles were on the vehicle when you took delivery? I have a dealer selling me an 07 XLE with 80 miles on it. Is this considered high?
My concern is that this was their 'test drive' XLE car and I'm looking for one with not more than 15 miles on it. Does this seem unreasonable?
mines had 58 on it, came from a dealer in a neighboring city.
look on the window sticker, on the bottom it should have the dealer it was originally delivered to, is that dealer approx. 80 miles from dealer you might buy it from?
I wouldnt be trippin on the 80 miles it has on it.

I think it was the original dealer. It's an internet dealer so I dont know but thats good piece of info. Thanks!
I think if it's a Japan-built the mileage is around 11miles since technician test-drives at each port and marks in the paperworks (at least it's a case for my 2001 RX300).
My 2007 Camry has 5 miles when I took delivery (plus 1 mile around dealer lot to make sure everything was OK).
80 miles is kind of high, I suspect it is demo/test car.
Japanese-built XLE -- I got the third one my dealership sold, with the other two probably bought that day. Truly, it was the first day I was aware that they finally had the new Camry on the lot. Mine had about 50 miles on it, and I put about 10 on during my test drive. So, if there's like 10 on it when it hits the dealer lot, it looks like there may have been about four runs over the local loop they use for test drives, or something like that.
50 is a lot more than I've ever had on any other car I've bought -- the last two were virtually unwrapped from the rear storage area, and made ready for my first test-drive. However, all seems well with my 50-miler -- in the end, I guess mileage like that isn't anything worth worrying about at all!
Instead of being frustrated about the mileage get'm back with a good prank! Come back a week after you've bought the car and ask to test drive a more expensive car. Drive it to another car lot and park so they can't see the dealer tag nor window sticker. Pick out a car and tell the salesperson you want to test drive it. Since he just saw you get out a brand new car he's subject to just hand over the keys. Drive it back to the first lot and park it, get in your own car and go home. Let them figure out what happened.
...over 300 , which should've given me a "dealer-demo-discount", but as it was, I did get $1,500 off MSRP plus an extra $1,000 on my trade-in, so I'm OK with that plus the tranny has held together thus far; just under 900 miles on the car now.
I had 412 miles on my 07 LE. It was a dealer switch out. It came from a Dealer in lower Ohio (can't remember the name). This is why I am sure I got 2K off the sticker. Things like this do not bother me. I rather take a hit on a few miles and save allot in the long run.
The only thing that annoyed me was the car is black and it has been run through a car wash...I can see micro swirls in the finish. Still all in all I am happy with the "Deal".

That would be funny as hell until both dealerships report their car stolen.
Remeber they have a copy of your drivers license.
But I gotta give you props for the excellent idea
