Exclamation Buying '07 LE V6 on Tues - Q's re: options

I'm planning to buy an '07 Camry LE V-6 ($150 over invoice) on Tuesday, and am debating which options to add.

I plan to add:
  • JBL AM/FM CD Changer w/8 Speakers
  • Sunroof Package
  • Carpet Floor/Trunk Mat Set

I'm considering the Vehicle Stability Control, since I do live in the Chicago area, but am not sure how much it'll really help ... anyone have an earlier model Toyota w/this? If so, did it really make a difference? I'm also considering the side moldings, cuz it just seems like the new model is begging for dings. Anyone add those yet? If so, pls provide price & your experiences so far w/the dealer.
Input would be appreciated, thanks!

If you are going to be driving on snow or ice, spend the extra $520 for TC/VSC.

Hmmm. Shows how screwy we are with priorities.

You couldn't freaking SELL a V6 to me -- just more money to pay more money on gas and maintenance over the years, all to get a shorter range on the long highway trips.

Time and time and time again, both with my 2007 I4 Camry and my trade-in 2004 I4 Honda Accord coupe, I've had more than plenty -- MORE THAN PLENTY -- of power to zip out whenever needed, to pass on the open road, to zip up the freeway onramps, to leap into a gap in traffic. MORE THAN PLENTY. So, it just absolutely boggles my mind as I wonder, "What the heck do you guys DO with all that extra power??" "Street racing??" "Fast and Furious drifting??" "Burning rubber out of every green light, trying to make it to 80 MPH before you hit the next red light??"

On the other hand, a quick price check shows that my I4 XLE costs about as much as a V6 LE with the moonroof, JBL stereo, and VSC. Boy, I'll take the I4 XLE with the leather and the multi-information display and the boatload of other XLE goodies over a V6 LE, any minute of any day!

Anyway, no offense meant to anyone, just tossing a different perspective onto the pile!

^ you must be an old man...

Does your i4 slam you back into the seats and put a big stupid grin on your face? or does it allow you enough time to make a sandwich while getting up to freeway speed?

I've had an i4 and v6 - and the only 4 cylinder motors I will go back to are the ones that make as much hp as the 6's - I'd rather suffer the fewer KM per tank to make up for the driving experience.

and to the OP - Forget the Stability control and get some really good snow tires if you're worried about winter driving

In my driving, I get 29MPG on my 05 XLE I4 and 28MPG on my 07 LE V6--the extra power is well worth the 1MPG difference in my observations :-)
