Something driving me crazy on the '07 Camry...

For those of you that have an '07 Camry do you have what looks to be a light in the upper left hand corner of the shifer bezel? Since my car is at the dealer I can't take pics, but if you know what this is please let me know.

Also, is there a way to turn off the overdrive on the '07 Camry?

In my 4cyl 5 speed automatic transmission SE. Therre is a rectangular hole in the upper left hand cover, The owners manual states that this is for the emergency shifter release in case it gets stuck in park and won't come out. I have no light.

Even though yours is a 6-speed auto-trans yours may be the same?

I can turn off the overdrive in my five-speed-auto buy leaving it in "4" instead of "D".

My wife and I always drove stick until she bought this car. Still getting use the the delay from the gas petal to the wheels turning.

pjp thanks for the info. I have a V6 so I am hoping that someone else with a V6 might be able to answer too... just so we get both sides of it.
