2007 le vs se v6....need opinions.

Hi,
I will be purchasing my first new car in 2 weeks and cant decide on which 'trim' model to get. the se is about 3k more than the le. i really like the body looks of the se and was wondering if i can add to the body of the le at a cheaper cost. etc... suggestions?

Dunno...if it will be "cheaper". The SE has nice features...the LE has nice features. I like the fact I can drop the rear seats. I have a family and that is valuable to me. Myself I am adding the Lip Spoiler and a Fog Light Kit when available. My LE will look more "SE like"...but it will still not be an SE.

I think you can a a similar looking body kit, lip spoiler and fog lights and probably the wheels for the look of a SE.

The SE has alot of other differences on the inside including sport suspension, 1cm lower, more ridgid body (thanks to front strut tower bar and a back seat that does not fold down but works like a rear strut tower bar) not to mention the dash, seats, and the interior accents. Oh and I got cool SE floor mats and special SE metal plate on the door threshold I'm probably missing some things too.

No...the body is different. Designed for "Sport". Same as the XLE.

I was told the rear XLE seats do indeed fold down 40-20-40 or somthing like that, they recline slightly too.

The SE rear seats only have the centre pass through.

When they say 40-20-40, they're just talking about the right-center-left proportions of the thing -- the XLE just has the center pass-through, same as the SE. The XLE just adds the recline feature to the outboard seats (probably why they mention the 40-20-40 thing, anyway) beyond what the SE has....

It kinda depend on your preference. If you like the sporty look and have the $$$$ to spend, then go for SE. If not, then LE does have some advantages (lower price than SE, rear folded seat, etc..)

You better start listening to someone that knows something or look it up yourself.

Download the brochure and go down 1 by 1 the different features. Then ask yourself if the SE if worth the additional money. I would not recommend getting the LE and adding the body kit and fog lights, if that's the case buy the SE, but that's just me.

Also, KBB.com and Edmunds has pretty good comparison info too. Good Luck!
