Haha whoops about the "nob" shows how good I am at typing when I'm bored at work.

Not a real nob

(grin) I fully unnerstand about typing and work-boredom! Been dare, dun dat - now finally out of the loop.
But as to that gnarly knob - 'tain't even a real "knob," more like a "nub," eh? And for sure, never try to change it whilst you're driving! If you turn the wheel just right you can take off vital appendages - such as hands, fingers, etc.
Awkward - but not nearly as awkward as the procedure for changing out the rear speakers! Anybody actually tried this? In the "good old days" you could un-do the speakers from inside the trunk. Unh-unh - now you've gotta take out the whole back panel covering the space behind the rear seats! I read the instructions, and gave up before I tried. Sigh.

Just got a 2009 Camry and have the same complaint as previous messages concerning the headrest.

Tentative solution: lift the headrest out and reinstall it backwards. Then your head is not forced forward.

You lose the indent head height stops but this doesn't matter much, and if necessary I can drill some new holes.

I will inquire at the dealer, but doubt if they have anything better.
