2007 XLE Front Speaker Problem

Hi Everyone,

I have the 07 XLE with Nav and have had it 1 week now. I always felt like the sound was coming from the front of the car and not the sides. Today I put my ear to the speaker on the driver side door and heard just a low muffled sound. It was in the lower tone range; no highs or mids.

Are the side speakers suppose to be bass only? It seems illogical to not have a fuller range speaker on the sides.

I'm curious if other owners have noticed the same or if my system is defective.

Thanks!
Peyton

Those speakers should but out at the very least Mids the tweeters at the front could not handle the mid frequency's... Thus something is up... Take it back to the dealer and have them check it, maybe its a false connection or bad speakers altogheter.

Door speakers are 6x9 Midrange per Toyota, Fronts are 2.6" Tweeters, Rears are 6x9 coax Tweeters/Midrange.

I haven't listened to mine by putting my ear to each speaker but I will the next time I'm out.

According to this link http://www.jbltoyota.com/toyota_camry/front_woofer.asp The speaker on front dash are midrange, the ones in the door are woofers and the rear speakers 6 x 9inch coaxial full-range loudspeakers with integral 25mm metal-dome tweeters mounted left- and righthand on the upper surface of the rear package shelf.

Would upgrading the front door 6x9 speakers make a difference in sound quality. I guess my question is, how good are the stock speakers? Apparently not very good.

Unhappy

Wow, I would never have thought to put a woofer in the side. Sounds lousy in my opinion. To my ears, the sounds (esp. when listening to talk radio) sound "distant" coming out of the front speakers.
