3 Caveats:

1. To open all doors, I have to press Unlock 3 times (first to unlock the driver side, 2nd do nothing, 3rd to unlock all doors), instead of twice.
2. Locking does not turn the automatic daytime running light off (as mentioned in user menu)
3. I was told that my Camry CE does not have powered trunk release. So it requires physical wire to open the trunk which I declined.
Going to CC tonight to have mine installed. I'll let you know if it comes out any different than your install.

That would be much appreciated!

BTW, I believe the 2-step unlock is an option. If you don't ask for it, they won't do it and the out come maybe a little different too.

In addition, the keyless entry has a feature of locking all doors when you start the engine and unlock when you stop. I found it redundant since my Camry has similar (and better) implementation. Maybe if you tell them you don't need it, they don't have to cut the ignition wire. Otherwise, it can still be programmed to be disabled, which I did. Its your call.

My car is a manual and don't remember my doors locking or unlocking when I drive. I thought that is usually tied with the tranny when you put it in gear but it might just be a timing or speed thing. Don't care about that much anyway, really just want dual stage unlocking, dome and parking lamps. Would also like the trunk popper but will just add it later. Do you recall how long it took them to do the install?

I waited about 2 hours but it is about an hour's job. Yes, the auto door lock is mentioned in manual references to shifting in/out of P. But the Camry can also be programmed to lock/unlock when your speed > 20mph and driver opened door, which is non-tranny dependent.

Good luck with your installation!

My doors are programmed to:

1) AUTO-LOCK once the shift lever is moved out of park
2) AUTO-LOCK if the doors are unlocked and my speed goes above 12 MPH
3) AUTO-UNLOCK ALL DOORS only if the drivers side door is opened within 10 seconds

Got mine installed at CC tonight.

My doors unlock the drivers with one push and a second unlocks the others (as it should)

If my headlights are on auto the parking lights will not flash, if they are on manual they work as they should. I'm gonna leave it in the garage and try it again before I hit the hay to see if they are still working and again in the morning.

Talked to the installer while he did it, nice guy and even was trying to set me up with the trunk pop. He said a lot of times the actuator is already there but not being used as such. No luck though.

That rings a bell! I did set the light to auto in some occations and that's exactly what happened! The light won't flash when the light is auto.

I guess no honks for you either? If you meet that guy again, can you ask if he know of any reason that I must press 3 times to open all doors?

Sure I will.

Mine honks when I press the lock button twice quickly, just like a factory system. Most aren't programmed to do it on just the initial lock but if you want audible you hit it again.

Thats strange.

The parking lights are suppose to flash when you lock/unlock. Or arm/disarm with alarms.

Maybe you have a faulty unit and/or improper installation.
I have the camry 2007 ce. I installed a Viper 350plus alarm (
Amazon Amazon
)

But I do not know how to make the trunk release work. The alarm has an aux function cable to be attached to do this. But some people say a solenoid is needed and some others say a solenoid and a relay? But no one mentions how it is done or if indeed a relay is needed.

Can you please help? If possible can you tell me where to buy it from?
