Canada Purchasing a 2007 Camry LE

I finally got to test drive the new Camry today at the local dealership. At first I did notice the hesitation/downshifting issue that most people seem to experience as in this thread but I guess thats just the drive-by-wire. Overall I really like the car - a very comfortable and smooth ride.

I plan on making an offer on the LE (magnetic grey) in the next few weeks. I am pretty excited as this will be my first car. Hopefully I can get a good deal as I've done lots of research (here and at edmunds) and have the invoice price quote from carscostcanada.com. However, there hasn't been a lot of information on Canadian owners as to prices paid and experiences. Does anyone have info on Canadian prices paid or general advice/experiences in getting a fair deal?

TIA

My experience with new Camrys in Canada is there isn't a lot of 'room' to dicker.
Maybe 500-700$ at most on an LE. If they know you maybe closer to the 700$ number. Be friendly, not an ass and sometimes you will do better than an aggessive approach. Also, sometimes a 'pregnant pause' as you look at the price and the guy may drop a little as you hesitate. But overall, don't expect a lot of room, as they sell them all and haven't the trouble as other car manufactuers in moving their product. Let me know if you get a better deal, I'm in Ontario.
Try something like,..."come on now Bill or John-whaever the sales guys name is, help me spend my money.." can setup a friendly exchange to a good deal.

Canada Check your Trade-in Value

Hi;
When we purchased our 2007 SE V6 in April, I did all the research into prices, including my trade-in which was a 2003 Corolla LE loaded with everything.
I got them to give me a "premium" on the trade to make up for them not wanting to move on the MSLP. They gave me $17,400 for my Corolla which made up for the MSLP.
Hope this helps, but don't expect too much off.

I just finished a deal at the dealership on the LE. Ended up getting $1100 off MSRP and oil changes for 5 years. I pick up the car next week!
