Toyota Offering HIDs on 07 Camry Solara...

...but not on the standard Camry! WTF?! http://www.toyota.com/camrysolara/options.html. People are paying all this money for SE V6s and XLEs but Toyota REFUSES to add HID as an option on the Camry but for the 2007 Solara they readily make it available? I dont like that. I wonder if the projectors on the Solara are the same as for the Camry? Oh, and the 07 Solara got LED tail lights as well. Keep up the madness Toyota.

I think it might not be a direct swap on the projector between solara and camry, solara seems to have bigger headlamp housing. I think you can get aftermarker HID kit if you want. I have seen couple people in this forum put HID kit on camrys.

solara seems to get cool stuffs earlier than camry. Solara has been using projector headlamp from 04 model and camry only start having it on gen 6. And Automatic transmission in solara has the manual shiftgate since 04 (V6 and from all model on '05)model and camry only gets it this model year (07).
But for 07, solara is still using the old V6 (3.3L with 5 speed auto instead of 3.5L with 6 speed auto).

Toyota has not perfected the LED tails yet so I am glad they are not on all Camrys.

I agree. I don't like the way the LED's look on Toyota's, it just doesn't seems 'perfected' yet. I paid almost 30k for my '07 SE V6 and it didn't come with HID's, it is bullshit. I was going to get a fully loaded Acura TSX with Nav (it comes with HID) for $29,200... but I decided with the Camry because I knew their reliability and I love Toyotas anyways and the Camry was MUCH more roomier.

They certainly haven't perfected LEDs yet. The LEDs on the Camry Hybrid look a mess.

I hate to say it since it is GM and they did it years ago, but the only car to do LED tails right are the STSs.

The G35s are OK. Accords CamHis Oddesseys and the like all suck. I would actually have them removed so I could put my own setup in.

Yes I know it is the sucsessor to the camry coupe, but yhey need to drop the solara nameplate and just have a camry coupe that has very similar bodywork with a different grill

Well technically its called the "Camry Solara" so it is a Camry coupe.

Do I need to send a telegrahm? The solara IS a camry coup. THere are just 2 years different. They should have made them equal in year as the camry this year instead of waiting 2 more years.

The technical name is Camry Solara just like it is Corolla Matirx.

They do need to do something to make them sell better. The Accord coup sells way better than the Solara here.

Also, the designation "coup: has to co with the size of the cabin more than the # of doors. The solara might not legaly classify as a coup. Like they never really called the 2 door neon a coup it was the Sport. (I think it was alwaya 2 door)

Bare minimum, they should have the 3.5 as an option.
