^^^Totally agree. Those side-moldings completely killed a very nice, clean looking car. They look so obtrusive and they stick out so much. Looks like there's way too much going on on the car now.

I'll toss my vote in on anti-side molding. I love the simpleness of the side w/o the molding. (I understand you aren't going to change your mind though)

To be quite honest with everyone, I wasn't too keen on the idea of the body side molding either (I don't really care for the way they look), but I figured it would definitely protect my sides from dings.

What are you basing this on??? From first hand experience the side moldings on my 02 Camry did NOTHING to protect my car from dings and if you were to do some research you'd find that most people would agree that BSM are purely cosmetic and provide no real protection against dings.

Well someone would have to do an actual scientific study to get actual results but common sense tells me that putting something in place that has the opportunity to catch and stop at lease SOME doors from making full contact your odds of reducing them increase.

Take the bumpers off you car and see what the results are if someone rear ends you.

It doesnt take a scientific study to do anything when you have somethig called "PERSONAL EXPRIENCE" and "COMMON SENSE". Personal experiece being I have gotten dings on my car which HAD BSM and Common Sense being it shouldnt take a Havard grad to point out the obvious that if an H3 or Land Rover is parked next to you and some jackass swings the door open, those BSM which are two feet furthur down WONT be protecting your car againt dings. In fact, forget SUV's, most cars will still be able to inflict damage.

maybe what he meant to say is they help in SOME instances... thats like syaing im never gonna wash my car again because it will just get dirty. even if you never take it out of the garage the garage could still fall and wreck it. he likes his moldings, leave him alone
