Does anyone think that the dual zone feature actually works on the 07 XLE? The reason I ask is that I don't seem to notice any difference when using it. I mean how does it even work? When you call for 75 on drivers side and say 70 on passenger's side what happens? Is air only suppose to come out of the passengers side (to cool down from 75 on drivers side)?

I haven't looked in my manual but there should be blend doors for both driver and passenger that will blend cool and warm air to the setpoints that you enter. Air will come out of both sides all the time that the unit is on.
later:
Just looked at the manual and there are air mix dampers for both Driver and Passenger.
i never understood what the point of dual zone climate control was... doesn't the air all mix up in the end and become the same temperature anyway? granted, the air blowing directly at the person is at different temperatures, but in the long run the interior cabin temp just equalizes. not very efficient, and doesn't make any sense to me

It works great for me and the wife.
My vent blows colder air than her's when set.
She's happy and I'm happy.
Great feature!
hmm... guess you guys have a point i usually drive alone, so i don't have to worry about other passengers. and even with passengers, they rarely complain, so its more of a interesting feature than something functional to me.
I can tell you how it works for me. When I turn mine on 65 and my wife turns hers on 73, I don't have to listen to her complain that the air that's blowing out is too cold.
Couldn't the passenger just decrease the air flow with the knob on the right side and achieve a similar result? Granted, the air is the same temperature, but with less air flow, it's about the same effect.

There are all kinds of "couldn't" questions but the passenger selects the temperature he/she wants.
If either wants less airflow, then they can close the dampers or put the fan on manual..

lol... so let me get this. do you fight with the temperature controller all the time with your fight all the time? you changed to 65 degree... 5 minutes later it's at 73. hahaha...
