4th Generation P0773 - Shift Solenoid E Electrical Malfunction

Ok, I've searched the forums regarding this problem:

P0773 - Shift Solenoid E Electrical Malfunction

My CEL has gone on and off twice already. I already went to Autozone to check out the code and it was indeed P0773. I called up my mechanic and they referred me to a tranny shop to get it diagnosed better and probably fixed. However, I can't afford whatever the cost is going to be at the moment. Does anyone know what could happen if I don't get this problem fixed soon? or how long can I go before it REALLY needs to be fixed?

Right now, the CEL is off, so I guess everything is ok for the moment. I haven't felt anything wrong with my car or anything in regards to it shifting. I'm just looking for some advice and a better know-how regarding this problem.

Thanks in advanced to anyone who can help.

i had to replace mine.

234.88usd on partsamerica.com but that is what you need and to get to it you need to remove the tranny pan and the valve body to get to it
