i was wondering how much does it cost to put in the RS from the dealer?
hows the signal transmission range?

Houston-TX: need key chip, remote, or body features programming? PM me.
I personally think it's better buying an aftermarket alarm with remote start since it gives you more commands/security for the same price as buying the RS installed from the dealer. My advice is to look into the Viper 791xv. It's an awesome alarm system for its price. Definately worth it.
i dont want it, nor i have an 07 camry. but im seeing more and more of ppl have RS add on, its just rediculous.
if its like 200 bucks for less to get it addon, then id get it. id still think all factory's unit range is pretty limited, and thats teh big issue.

i have a remote start on my camry, and i think ill add it to other cars i have down the road. its great for winter to warm up the car, and for summer to start cooling the car. plus if i have to do a quick run into a store or something, i can leave the car running, but take out the key so no one can drive off. i dont like turning off the car, then starting it back up a minute later.
RS serves all-around purposes, heat up and cool down cabin, not just warming up the car. so, in texas, temp can get up to 3digits easily.

I don't use my remote start in warm weather.
I always open a window or two to let some hot air out of the vehicle making it easier for the A/C to do it's job.
Also use Automatic Climate Control which doesn't turn on with the vehicle started.
It's turned on manually.
was it an option or standard on ur XLE?
if optional, then how much did you paid for urs?

umm... i dont' think it's standard on xle andi tried to get my xle to start remotely, but failed.... i wish i'm wrong
You must have a remote start unit.
It's not standard equipment.
I,like maybe you have push button start option which isn't a remote start unit of which you may be thinking of.
I didn't get the remote engine start with my 07 camry LE because I figured it won't work in the area that I work . Sure enough , my remote entry doesn't work if I'm standing more than 4-5 feet away from my car . It has something to do with the electronics in the nearby buildings .
A guy that works with me had a Clarion SR1000 alarm with remote start installed in his car and it works OK in the same area , so I'm thinking of buying the same unit and having a professional install it for me but I don't know if anyone has experience working on a 07 Camry and how the SR1000 will work if I already have the factory remote entry installed , etc.
A remote engine start is a must in Chicago unless you don't mind sitting in a freezing car while waiting for it to warm up.

I haven't tried the remote start in the '07 Camry as the car is at the dealer getting it installed.
I went to pick up the Camry and the remote start didn't work so I got the laoner XLE again.
I have the paperwork of the unit they installed.
It's a Toyota VIP remote starter probably made by Viper.
As far as range of remores...
I do have remote on my Explorer and had it on the corolla we just traded in and the range was great.
I can sit at my kitchen table and start the vehicles.
Beams going through walls and aluminum siding with the vehicle about 30 ft away.
